We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) and secure data storage. Personal information is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Financial records are retained in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency requirements.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use a small set of analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use our website so we can improve it. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for advertising. Specifically:

• PostHog — aggregated page views, click patterns, and anonymized session replays. Form inputs (name, email, message) are masked at the recording layer and never leave your browser in plain text.
• Microsoft Clarity — heatmaps and anonymized session replays. Same input-masking applies.

Both services honour your browser's Do Not Track setting and use first-party storage only (no third-party advertising cookies). Neither runs on our admin pages, so internal staff sessions never appear in the recordings or analytics.

You can opt out of all analytics by enabling Do Not Track in your browser, or by writing to info@cocktailsandcanapes.ca with the subject line “Opt out of analytics”.

8. Your Rights Under PIPA

Under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information
• Withdraw consent for the use of your information
